So what can you do to celebrate this Valentine's Day? I've been working with aromatherapy essential oils for many years and I am very familiar with creating the right romantic atmosphere that will make that magical space at home a rewarding experience.

To achieve the right environment, start by lighting some candles in your favorite room and listening to relaxing music that you both like. The scenario is not complete without the subtle aroma effect. The sense of smell is one of the finest and oldest forms of communication we have, the mechanism of which remains a mystery today. Create the desired atmosphere with oils has been essential for centuries. In fact, ancient Egyptians made a lifestyle aromatherapy with the use of scented oils, scented barks and resins are recorded as early as 4500BC. The perfumes were used by lovers to increase the attractive forces that exist between them. Now, to create its romantic ritual .... Place either a single essential oil or in its blend of aromatherapy burner with a tea light underneath. (I prefer to use an oil burner essential with a deep container so that it takes longer to spread without overheating and drying).

For a 'sensual interlude' add 1 drop of orange, 2 drops of Ylang Ylang essential oils and 3 drops their incense burner. About 5 to 6 drops enough. Orange is a joyful and playful scent that blends well with the sweet fragrance, heady ylang ylang. With the added connection which gives the incense to increase your senses you'll be well on your way to enjoy an evening of sensual euphoria!

For the true romantic, pink helps to feel more deeply. It is a mild aphrodisiac with a spiritual quality that can be used alone or in a mixture. Or if you feel a little more bold attempt Jasmine essential oil, a wonderful oil that brings the exceptional qualities of strength and softness, yin and yang, so it is a powerful aphrodisiac!

So this Valentine's Day open your heart to love and romance to embrace the noble art of aromatherapy and add some essential oils in your life!
